RotStop
A completely free, secure, simple exersice based screen time limting app.
Functionality
Movement is the unlock.
RotStop sits on top of Apple's Screen Time framework. The apps you pick stop opening — until you've done something physical, waited something out, or until the schedule says they can again.
Walk to unlock
Set a step target for a blocked app. RotStop reads your live step count from CoreMotion — when you hit the target, the app opens. Stop walking, and the wall comes back the next day.
Fitness prerequisites
Require that a fitness goal be met before an app can open at all. Pulled from Apple Health, so any source counted by HealthKit — phone, watch, or third-party tracker — qualifies.
Timer challenges
Prefer to wait it out instead of moving? Set a cool-down timer the app must survive before opening. Hard Mode locks your unlock decision in for the rest of the day.
Schedules & limits
For the apps that don’t need a challenge — block them outright on a recurring schedule, or cap how long they can be open each day.
Pricing

Privacy Policy
RotStop Privacy Policy
1. Data we collect
None. RotStop does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no logins, no servers, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising identifiers.
2. Data we share
None. There is no data to share because there is no data collected. We do not sell, rent, disclose, or otherwise transfer any information to third parties — there are no third parties involved.
3. Third-party SDKs
RotStop does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, A/B-testing, or crash-reporting SDKs. There are no integrations with services such as Firebase, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Sentry, AppsFlyer, or similar.
4. Permissions and how they are used
RotStop requests the following permissions. Each is used exclusively on your device and never transmitted off it:
- Screen Time (Family Controls). Used to select which apps and categories to block and to enforce those blocks. Selected app identifiers are tokens generated locally by Apple's framework.
- Health (read). Used to check whether you have met fitness prerequisites (for example, a daily step goal) required to unlock blocked apps.
- Health (write). Used to record completed unlock challenges as workout entries in Apple Health, if you opt to grant write access.
- Motion & Fitness. Used for live step tracking during a step-target unlock challenge.
5. Network access
RotStop makes zero network requests. The app does not contact any server we operate, any third-party service, or any analytics endpoint.
6. Children’s privacy
RotStop is appropriate for users of all ages. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects no personal data from children — including no data covered by the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, or comparable regulations.
7. Your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws
Because we do not collect or process any personal data, there is no data to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete. The configuration RotStop stores lives only on your device — uninstalling the app deletes it. You may withdraw permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
8. Data retention
Not applicable. No data is collected, so no data is retained. App configuration is held in local iOS storage and is removed when you delete the app.
9. Changes to this policy
If RotStop’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated. Material changes will be highlighted in the release notes of the app update that introduces them.
